Detailed introduction
The KBBF crystal, short for Potassium Yttrium Double Tungstate, is a new type of deep ultraviolet nonlinear optical crystal capable of producing high-quality, high-power laser ranging from infrared to vacuum ultraviolet. It has a high nonlinear optical coefficient and can generate coherent light in the deep ultraviolet region by direct second harmonic generation with a minimum wavelength of 177 nanometers. Alternatively, a special prism-coupling technique can be used to generate coherent laser light below 235 nanometers. KBBF crystal devices using this technique have a maximum aperture of 6×6 millimeters and a crystal thickness of approximately 1.5 millimeters. The KBBF crystal also boasts excellent optical uniformity and mechanical strength, as well as a high damage threshold, making it suitable for use in ultrafast laser systems.
